“Lost Gods” Book Review

I absolutely adored this series. Every minute of it was breath taking and left me thinking about the characters long after I had finished their story. I gave this series a five star review all around.

There are three books in this series and  each follow a different God. I’m a big fan of writers using past characters in their other books and Laverne does a great job overlapping the characters. The mains in book one follow you all the way to book three along with the new characters and I love being able to see how they have grown.

All the Gods are dead. Long live the Gods. Long live Zeus.

What if you woke up one day and found out you used to be a God? But you don’t care when you can’t save the one you love. Unless you claim your legacy and your powers, even if you have to kill your father to do it.

Ze found he would do whatever he must to make sure Kassia lived. She was an innocent.

Kassia lived her life for the last year under a death sentence. She had an end date of three months. This was her last chance to save herself against the thing killing her from the inside. Even accepting the will of a God. He could save her life, but at what cost to her soul?

When survival is everything, would you do anything to ensure that you do?

My Review:

I’ll admit when I read this I wasn’t to sure I was going to like it. And I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with a God. But then it pulled me in and I loved it. I love the character’s names, I love the mystery of the event they find themselves in, and I love the backdrop. The characters are well written and the story is fully developed. This is a must read if you like stories that will leave you wanting more then this fist book is where you should go.

All the Gods are dead. Long live the Gods. Never forget.

To be reborn time after time knowing, remembering; each past life is both heaven and hell for Ledo. But as a son of Ares, the Fates rule his life. His rebirth serves one purpose: to stand with Zeus when he faces Cronus and to die doing it. That never bothered him. He’d lived many lifetimes and knew his destiny, willingly embracing it.

But then came Aria, she too was his destiny, his reward. Both his pleasure and his pain. Protect her he would, even if it meant going against the Fates.

As a scientist, if Aria couldn’t see it, taste it, touch it or calculate it, it didn’t exist. Until the man from her beautiful dreams showed her everything she believed in was a lie. And now that she knew that, her life was forfeited

My Review:

This book was interesting to me. I wasn’t ready to let go of the character’s from the last book but I didn’t have too. These books are linked together and I was able to get a glimpse of the main story in this book. As all of these books follow a very specific arc. Something I really love about this book is the connection that Led and Aria feel. You defiantly get a sense of design intervention in this book.

All the Gods are dead. Long live the Gods. I am aware.

Linc had grown up having to kill to protect himself and his best friend. So, death and he were intimate friends. Then when his best friend turned out to be non-other than the Greek God Zeus and needed him to once again watch his back, Linc had no choice but to grab his Glock and say, hell yes.

Little did he know, he had many trials to go through to be able to help his friend. Not the least of which was helping a woman conquer her fears and not run from a man like him. But she was an integral part of his existence. He could not let her go.

Mina had resigned herself to being alone all her life. She could trust no one with her secrets, she couldn’t even trust herself. She’d been forced to kill to protect those secrets and she didn’t want to risk the one man who might have accepted them. Not after she’d almost cost him his life. Yet, help him she must. It was her destiny, she just couldn’t bring herself to believe it.

My Review:

This last book was my favorite. I absolutely love Mina and her abilities. I love the way she is so independent and makes her own claim. Mina is defiantly the more empowering of the three main women in this series. Strong, independent, and brave whats not to love? Linc is also a fun character and I love the way his personality kind of compliments hers.

Final Thoughts:

I love this series and would recommend it to other readers who have a love for the Greek Gods, romance, mystery, and action because this book has a bit of everything. *This series must be read in order and does contain detailed scenes.*
